CurvyCon Recap

CurvyCon Recap

“CurvyCon is curvy girl heaven” like for real! Last year I attended Curvycon from the comfort of my couch as I followed on twitter, snapchat and Instagram as my favorite bloggers spent an amazing weekend in NYC. I knew I had to go! And so I went! I purchased a teal ticket and hopped on a 3am megabus with sights set on the Big Apple.

(For those who don’t know: Curvy con is a plus size conference created by blogger superstars Cece Olisa and Chasity Garner)

The event started off with a workout session led my fitness superstar Massy Arias. If you don’t follow her on Instagram make sure you do she is such an inspiration. Massy showed us a routine that included resistance bands that could be done anywhere. The workout session only lasted about 30 minutes and wasn’t very challenging! (this can be a good this or a bad thing). I expected the workout to me more intense but perhaps she took it easy on us since it was a room full of plus sized girls, but lets move on.

For teal and general ticket holders there was huge gap in the schedule, for platinum ticket holders there was a brunch. We all convened back together in time for the Dia & Co fashion show, which completely blew me away! The styles were so diverse! Personally, I am not a fan of subscription clothing services but after that show I am tempted to subscribe. The show was followed by a panel discussion where we hear more from Dia & Co founder Nadia Boujarwah.

Day 2 of CurvyCon was filled with panel discussions on various topics and shopping! I didn’t plan on spending any money during the event but how can you not! The discounts! I ended up buying a fabulous fur coat from Roaman’s and I cant wait to show you all how I style it!

Why you should go to next years curvycon: There is nothing more powerful than women coming together to support each other. The atmosphere is so warm and even if you attend alone you will quickly make new friends. Even leading up to CurvyCon I virtually met many of the lovely ladies that were attending. It’s truly the perfect girls trip. You will also get to meet some of your favorite bloggers and vloggers and shop new brands and discover new styles. The next one is scheduled for September 7, 2018 so mark your calendars now!
